The device was selected for Ralink's 3x3 MIMO USB dongle RT3573 and PCIe router designs RF3883 because of its size, competitive performance and attractive price. The RFX2402 offers a complete set of RF front-end blocks needed for 802.11n Wi-Fi operations fully integrated onto a single silicon die that fits within a very compact 3 x 3mm QFN package. It also offers on-die matching and filtering to make system integration easy without having to craft inefficient external matching circuits.
The RFeIC integrates a power amplifier with +18dBm linear power for OFDM 64QAM operation, a low-noise amplifier, antenna switch, harmonic filter, power detector and all RF impedance matching and decoupling components into a single silicon chip.
The RFX2402 is priced at 20 cents for high-volume customers.
