China-based Umeox showed a solar-powered Android cellphone called Apollo at the Mobile World Congress. Launched during the event were two models: MTK6516 developed for Europe and most of Asia supports the 900MHz/1800MHz bands, and the MTK6573 designed for the United States supports 850MHz/1900MHz.

ApolloThe back of the unit is fully wrapped in photovoltaic cells. The company estimates that charging up for daily usage should only require about 2.5 hours of sunlight, while bringing it back to 100 percent after it has been completely emptied would require 17 hours.

The cellphone features a 3.2-inch 320-by-480-pixel display, 1GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3-megapixel rear camera and a 3.5mm audio jack.
