Cadence Design Systems Inc. reports that Broadcom Corp. is expanding its use of the Palladium XP verification computing platform to validate its complex system designs before committing them to silicon.

Neil Kim, executive VO, operations and central engineering, Broadcom, explains that "the Cadence technologiesboth emulation and transaction-based accelerationprovide the user controllability and real-world verification environments we need for system-level integration and early hardware/software system validation." "The Palladium XP technology reduces time to market and improves quality," he added.

Palladium XP was introduced in April 2010 and is a fully integrated hardware/software validation platform, unifying simulation, acceleration and emulation into a single verification environment.

Broadcom is expanding its use of Palladium XP into several lines of business after evaluating the Cadence Ethernet, USB, Video and PCI Express SpeedBridge Adapter technologies.
