Advanced Thermal Solutions Inc. unveils a multitest laboratory instrument designed to simultaneously capture data from up to 12 J-type thermocouples, 16 air temperature/velocity sensors, and four differential pressure sensors.

According to ATS, the iQ-200 thermal analysis system is designed to be the first laboratory tool to simultaneously or individually measure the temperatures of solid materials and the surrounding air, as well as monitor air velocity and air pressure at multiple points to provide a complete profile of heat sinks, components and PCBs.

The iQ-200 eliminates the need for having multiple systems or additional software to synchronize data collection of different parameters. It also measures temperature with 12 thermocouple ports supporting J, K, T and E types. Temperature data is recorded from a range of -40C to 750C.

ATS' iQ-200 system measures air temperature and velocity using up to 16 hot wire anemometer portsor low-profile candlestick sensors that can be placed throughout a system. Air temperature is measured from 20C to 65C and air velocity is measured from 0 to 6m/s.

In addition, the iQ-200's differential transducers capture pressure drop data along circuit cards, assemblies and orifice plates. Pressure measurements are taken from 0 to 0.15psi.

The iQ-200 system includes the LabVIEW-based IQstage operating software, which manages the incoming data from multiple sensing devices, and provides rich graphic presentation on monitors and documents.

The thermal analysis system can be attached to any conventional personal computer via a USB port for convenient data management, storage and sharing.

It can also be factory-modified to measure higher airflows of up to 50M/s and air temperatures of up to 85C.

The iQ-200 thermal analysis system package is available with a list price of $24,500 and includes 12 J-type thermocouples, 16 candlestick sensors and 4 differential pressure sensors.
