2010 worldwide analog IC market grows 32%

In 2010, worldwide analog revenue bounced back with a 32 percent increase over 2009. Several suppliers outperformed the industry and gained market share in this segment.

The market leader in worldwide analog revenue in 2010 was Texas Instruments. With over 14 percent market share, TI grew market share in the analog industry by 42 percent in 2010. The next largest player was STMicroelectronics with just over 10 percent share and Infineon Technologies was the third largest player with close to 8 percent share. Both STMicroelectronics and Infineon Technologies participate in the application specific analog market, while Texas Instruments garners most if its revenue from the general purpose or multimarket analog product market. Analog Devices was the fourth largest supplier and Maxim Integrated Products was the fifth largest supplier.

The key product markets in analog are power management, RF ICs, data converters, and special purpose consumer products such as audio amplifiers and high speed interface.
