Gennum Corp., a supplier of high-speed optical, analog and mixed signal semiconductor solutions, announced that Mamoru Tomozane has been appointed President of Gennum Japan. In this role, Tomozane will manage Gennum's operations in Japan, including leadership of the company's sales efforts.

An experienced semiconductor industry leader, Tomozane joined Gennum as assistant country manager in December of 2009. Prior to that, he held various managerial positions in Japan with Motorola Semiconductor Products and Freescale Semiconductor, where he worked for more than twenty-two years. His responsibilities there included research and development for emerging technologies, application engineering, marketing and sales for consumer and wireless communication markets.

"We are extremely pleased to have an experienced semiconductor professional such as Tomozane leading our efforts in Japan," said Dr. Franz Fink, president and CEO of Gennum. "His intimate knowledge of the needs of our Japanese customers will further promote Gennum's broad portfolio of signal integrity solutions in this vital market."

Tomozane succeeds Mitsuo Ohtsuka, who will remain with Gennum to assist in the leadership transition, lead the company's competitive intelligence efforts for Japan and actively promote Gennum's Snowbush IP Group portfolio.

Tomozane holds a doctorate of engineering in materials science from the University of Tsukuba.
