Temperature switch IC touts 1.65V operating voltage
Keywords:temperature switch? lowest power consumption? extends battery life?
The S-5844 series has a wide temperature range 40C to 125C and allows for a wide range of applications. Temperature switch ICs are used to monitor temperature to keep devices functioning within a normal operating temperature range. The mobile/portable device market has been growing rapidly. The demand for additional functionality and higher processing speeds has increased heat generation. In addition to high density mounting and long battery life, these advanced devices require heat management to protect against malfunction.

The S-5844 series temperature switch ICs detect the specified temperature and protects the device from heat generation by inverting its output when the temperature threshold is reached. The output voltage is restored when the temperature drops to the specified release temperature. This enables the device to avoid temperatures above its design limits, improving safety and efficiency while reducing total design cost.
The series utilizes a super-small HSNT-4(1010) package (1 x 1 x 0.4mm), enabling high density mounting. The SNT-4A package (1.2 x 1.6 x 0.5 mm) is also available.
