LEDs support wavelength customization

ROHM Semiconductor has rolled out a line of LEDs that facilitates wavelength customization. This allows for colors such as pink, blue green, blue lagoon, sapphire blue, ice blue and incandescent bulb in addition to the eight standard colors: dark red, red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue and white. The new LEDs offer a broad range of applications that include automotive, consumer, gaming, industrial and more.

For greater compatibility, designers can choose from various package typesfrom an ultra-thin packaging of 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.36mm (0603) up to 3 x 2 x 1.3mm (1206)the company stated. The overall chip LED line-up consists of standard type, top-view type, side-view and reverse-mount types that provide maximum design and soldering flexibility, ROHM added.

The LEDs feature power dissipation of 54mW, forward current of 20mA, peak forward current of 100mA/kHz, reverse voltage of 5V and forward voltage 2.2V at 10mA. They also offer luminous intensity of 100mcd at 20mA, operate at a temperature range of 40C to 85/100C and can be stored at -40C to 100C. The products are available on a made-to-order basis.
