Pushbutton switch has an operating life of 50,000 cycles

C&K Components Corp has rolled out a family of ultra-miniature pushbutton switches that offers an extended operating life of 50,000 cycles. The FP series is composed of sealed devices that target telecom and datacom applications.

The devices use an o-ring between the actuator and bushing that prevents contamination. This feature allows for automated soldering and cleaning that saves time and money during assembly, the company stated.

The FP series switches measure 5.6 x 7mm with a board height of only 5mm for the right angle version, and 4.5 x 7mm with a board height of only 5.6mm for the vertical version.

The devices feature a contact resistance of 10mA at 2VDC with an initial contact resistance of 80m? maximum. Dielectric withstanding voltage is 500VDC between terminals/minute, while insulation resistance is 500M? minimum at 500VDC. Typical bounce time is 锟?10ms, maximum operating force is 6.9N, mechanical travel is one millimeter and operating temperature range is from -20锟紺 to 80锟紺. The FP Series switches feature gold over nickel-plated contacts with or without a white, black or red cap and are available in tray and bulk bag packaging.
