Sigma Designs Inc. has rolled out a full line of hybrid IP set-top box solutions for cable, satellite and the Brazilian International Standard Digital Broadcast-Television (ISDB-T), also called SBTVD.

The solutions will help service providers deliver the best combination of broadcast services over cable, satellite or terrestrial with Sigma's IP-optimized media processors, the company said.

ISDB-T, the government-mandated technical standard for digital TV broadcast is becoming a must-have feature in Brazil. For cable service providers, Sigma Designs has an Android-based DVB-C solution that supports full browser capabilities and full cable broadcast performance.

The company also has a media processor, the SMP8670, that runs Skype videos.

For satellite providers, Sigma Designs has a DVB-S set top box running IP video, such as YouTube, as well as satellite channels.

Sigma has also released multiple solutions including the CG5110 G.hn chipset that supports the new ITU standard, the G.hn, which delivers up to 1Gbit/s over powerline, phone line or coax wiring. The CG5110 is a G.hn chipset that provide backward compatibility with HomePNA and HomePlug AV.

The company also released the Z-Wave home control technology, which offers a wide ecosystem of home control products and the Ultra-Thin set-top box set, which integrates media processors, powerline home networking and Z-Wave RFbased remote control technology in an ultra-thin form factor that plugs directly into the wall outlet behind the flat panel TV.
