Infinera Corp. has established a facility in Hong Kong to offer faster and more cost-effective services to the increasing Asia Pacific (APAC) market that use the company's digital optical network technology. The new facility provides a venue for product demos, training and support that shows Infinera's commitment in providing enhanced levels of service and support.

The Hong Kong facility that will be staffed by sales, engineering, technical and operational support teams will enable Infinera to gain ongoing, in-depth understanding of market requirements and respond faster to customers' needs.

According to a recent research from Ovum, the global optical networking equipment market is driven by the continuing need for bandwidth and is expected to reach $20 billion by 2015 with 5 percent CAGR. APAC was identified as the number one growth region for optical networking sales. As one of the global leaders for quality and highly scalable solutions, Infinera is well positioned to meet the growing need for efficient and reliable networks, the company stated.

"Infinera is focused on growing our footprint in the expanding Asian market," stated Tom Fallon, Infinera CEO. "Building on our success in North America, we have achieved significant growth in EMEA and are now determined to extend this success to APAC. Infinera has made optical networking faster, simpler and more efficient, and we are excited to demonstrate this innovation to our existing and future customers in APAC."
