180nm CMOS process targets analog, power ICs

Dongbu HiTek Co. Ltd has unveiled a pair of specialized 180nm process technologies for creating analog, power and mixed-signal chips. According to the South Korean chip foundry, the high-performance analog CMOS process features precision-tuned active and passive components to implement data converters for medical and metrology applications.

Lou Hutter, senior VP and general manager of Dongbu HiTek's analog foundry business unit, said the company's new analog CMOS HP180 process would give designers the options to differentiate their products without depending exclusively on traditional analog IDMs.

Hutter added that the HP180 process supports operating voltages up to 24V. He expects the HP180 process to be enthusiastically received by fabless chip designers for developing standalone precision data converters or integrated high-performance analog SoC designs.

The company also unveiled its BD180X BCDMOS process to support operating voltages in the 40C60V range.

Dongbu HiTek is presently sampling BCDMOS chips for ultra high-voltage automotive and industrial applications that are implemented with its proprietary UHV 700V process.
