CONNEXIVE collects information from devices such as sensors, vending machines, information terminals and automobiles enabling telecom operators and companies to create new services such as remote device maintenance, advanced control management and improved vehicle control operations. It also provides applications and system infrastructure as a cloud based service and packaged software.
The CONNEXIVE Cloud Based Infrastructure Service reduces system development time by 30 percent and decreases installation costs by almost 20 percent. It complies with the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and Broadband Forum (BBF) standards that are adopted by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
NEC likewise offers two services. The Additional Data Storage Service enables the flexible addition of storage space when data exceeds system capacity. The Access Line Service, on the other hand, is an outsourcing service where NEC secures and manages access lines for M2M services.
The company anticipates sales of about $650 million (50 billion yen) over the next three years. It is also investigating cloud based services that integrate M2M applications and system infrastructure for the agricultural and industrial machinery management areas.
