1.6GHz LNAs geared for GPS devices

Torex Semiconductor Ltd has developed three small LNAs for GPS that are based on CMOS process. The XC2406, XC2407 and XC2408 are 1.6GHz LNAs with an ON/OFF function.

Three products with gains of 18dB (XC2406), 15dB (XC2407) and 22dB (XC2408) are available to match the application, and all have a low NF (0.96dB TYP.), the company stated. The operating voltage range is 1.71-3.63V. Standard power voltages of 3.45V, 3V, 2.85V and 1.80V are also available. The devices have reduced power consumption of 11.88mW (XC2406), 7.02mW (XC2407) and 12.6mW (XC2408) when VDD=1.80V and when a bias resistance is used.

These products are designed for smartphones, digital cameras with GPS and navigation systems. The

LNAs are housed in the small USP-8A01 package (1.5 x 1.5 x h0.6mm) that helps save space.
