MMIC power amp delivers >22dBm up to 30GHz

GigOptix Inc. has uncloaked a new addition to its portfolio of monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) power amplifiers. The 0.25W iT2012 targets military electronic warfare, radar, test and measurement equipment and broadband telecom equipment applications, said the company.

The device expands GigOptix's line of power amplifiers with frequency coverage extending up to 90GHz. It also features wide bandwidth performance from DC to 30GHz, internally matched RF input and outputs to 50?, and up to 26dBm typical saturated output power up to 15GHz and higher than 22dBm up to 30GHz.

In addition, the product has 35dBm typical output IP3 while operating with typical drain voltages of 8VDC and touts supply current of 220mA from 8V supply. The power amplifier likewise underlines a signal gain of 16dB typical with a gain flatness of ±0.5dB across band.

The iT2012 wideband distributed amplifier is available as bare die form and is designed to enable straightforward integration into subsystems and multichip modules (MCMs) by requiring few extra components for bias decoupling. Engineering samples are available now.
