The FAN3850A touts 16dB or 19dB gain while the FAN3850T has 15dB gain. |
The products integrate a pre-amplifier, low drop-out regulator (LDO) and ADC that converts electret condenser microphone (ECM) outputs to digital pulse density modulation (PDM) data streams. According to the company, this provides advanced noise rejection capabilities as well as an easy interface to mobile handset processors, resulting in better sound quality.
The devices are powered from the system supply rails, 1.64-3.63V, with lower power consumption of only 0.8mW and less than 20?W in power down mode. They feature excellent signal to noise ratio (SNR), lower distortion and high power supply rejection even at high sound pressure levels, added Fairchild. The company stated that they are geared for mobile handset and notebook microphone applications.
The FAN3850A costs $0.16 while the FAN3850T costs $0.19 in 1,000 quantity pieces. Samples are available upon request with 8-12 weeks ARO.
