As of early January, Nikon Corp. has resumed partial operations of its manufacturing subsidiary in Thailand, Nikon Co. Ltd. The facility is located at the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya Province and suffered damages from the Thai flood that devastated the country last year.

Nikon's Thailand fab operations have been suspended since October 6, 2011. Since then the company has been putting all its energy in restoring infrastructure and production equipment. Water pumping out at the facility was completed in November 26.

Since November last year, the manufacture of production equipment and some parts were being carried out at other Nikon Group facilities in Japan, while alternative and limited production of digital SLR cameras and interchangeable lenses were continued at the company's partner factories in Thailand since the end of November.

Nikon Thailand plans to resume normal operations by March 2012.
