The standard flameproof silicone coating enhances its usefulness at high power levels. In addition, the RNS series is capable of precision tolerances down to 0.5 percent and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) as low as 25ppm.
The RNS series can be used in home appliances, solid state power supplies, instrumentation, safety equipment, welding systems, robotics, and industrial power and control applications where an axial leaded resistor robust performance under harsh environmental conditions is desired, noted Stackpole. Pricing will vary depending on size, tolerance and TCR, and ranges from $0.015 to $0.045 each in full reel quantities.
