LEDiL Oy has unveiled 33 lenses qualified for use with Cree's XLamp XT-E white LEDs that Cree promotes as delivering twice the lumens-per-dollar of other LEDs. According to LEDiL , its offering provides multiple design choices and beam patterns and aims to cut system cost. The company added that their lenses reduce the number of LEDs required in a lighting system, leading to smaller power supplies and heat.

Single-position total internal reflection (TIR) lenses include 16.1mm, 21.6mm, 26mm and 35mm outside dimension, with FWHM beam angles from 9 degrees to 60 degrees, plus one lens with a 35x16 oval beam pattern.

STRADA lens

Strada lenses offer asymmetric light distribution patterns.

The lenses address almost all lighting needs and are often deployed in wide-area illumination, cove and wall-wash, task lighting and indoor effect lighting, stated LEDiL. Three-position lens arrays in 35mm and 40mm that achieve beam angles between 12 degrees to 36 degrees FWHM are ideal for development of highly efficient MR-type spot lights used in retail, hospital, museums and supermarket lighting, described the company. Designers of street lights, parking lot and garage lights, and high bay and similar commercial lights can choose from five different Strada lenses that offer asymmetric light distribution patterns. Under-cabinet and interior mood lighting is also enabled with the performance of XT-E LED and LEDiL's optical solutions.

LEDiL's designers engineer precision optics that claim to provide 90 percent or higher efficiency, with good beam cutoff and color consistency. Outdoor applications benefit from LEDiL's use of UV-stabilized, optical-grade PMMA. This material, which has outstanding resistance to UV radiation, also offers good resistance against scratches and other effects of outdoor exposure, added LEDiL.
