Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd has introduced what it said is the world's first 10GE cell site router (CSR) for LTE backhaul. The ATN 950B enables carriers to deploy extra-large LTE networks and provide enhanced mobile data services for their users, claimed the company.

According to the company, the ATN 950B meets the demand of rapid bandwidth growth for LTE by providing larger network bandwidth, multiservices, higher deployment efficiency and lower maintenance. It covers bandwidth increase from 1-10GE during LTE phases and even beyond LTE, Huawei noted. The ATN 950B features 300mm depth and can share the same rack with eNodeB.

The CSR supports 10GE ring, L2VPN, L3VPN and H-QoS and can flexibly schedule various services on complex networks. At the same time, it supports synchronization with multiple precise clocks such as ACR, synchronous Ethernet and IEEE1588v2, described the company.

"LTE will become the mainstream in the mobile market and develop at a rapid pace in the coming two to three years," stated Gai Gang, president of carrier IP product line, Huawei. "Driven by this trend, LTE base CSR needs to be developed. As the first 10GE CSR, ATN 950B helps operators deploy mobile broadband networks quickly and evolve their networks to LTE networks smoothly."
