Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. has introduced a bridge rectifier that is geared for space constrained systems such as mobile device battery chargers and power adapters, as well as Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices including IP surveillance cameras. The MDBxS series of MicroDIP bridge rectifiers also claims to lower BOM and increase reliability, said the company.

MDBxS series

The MDBxS has a package height of 1.45mm.

The device boasts a package height of 1.45mm (max). As such, the integrated design and small size reduces component count, saving up to 75 percent board space when compared to traditional discrete bridge rectifier solutions, noted Fairchild. The family consists of three partsthe MDB6S (600V), MDB8S (800V) and MDB10S (1000V) with 50-400V versions in development.

The MDBxS series requires only 35mm2 of board space and supports surge current capability of 30A (max). The bridge rectifiers are also UL certified E352360.

All parts are available for $0.21 in 1,000 quantity pieces with 8-12 weeks ARO. Samples are available upon request.
