According to the company, the power amplifier chipsets typically provide a Psat output power of 23dBm in the 71-76GHz band and 22dBm in the 81-86GHz band, including power detector losses.
"The EXT7601 and EXT8601 power amplifier chipsets represent a significant addition to GigOptix's growing portfolio of E-band solutions," noted Andrea Betti-Berutto, CTO of GigOptix. "This new chipset solution leverages GigOptix's heritage in providing transceiver solutions and enables E-band radio manufacturers to significantly increase the output power of their transmission systems over current solutions. The chipsets enable E-band radios to transmit more data over a longer distance and at a more competitive price than is possible with current market solutions. We expect the chipset solution to be a significant contributor to our future growth in the E-band market."
