eMemory, HLMC join in high voltage fabrication

eMemory Technology Inc., an embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) company, and Shanghai Huali Microelectronics Corp. (HLMC) have revealed that eMemory's One Time Programmable (OTP) technology, NeoBit, has completed silicon IP verification in HLMC's 55nm high-voltage (HV) process. According to the companies, the technology can provide high resolution display driver ICs and high performance solutions for the next-generation smartphones and tablets.

HLMC touts production technologies primarily centered on logic, HV and other specialty technologies. The OTP technology that HLMC and eMemory have developed, integrated what they declared as the most advanced 55nm high-voltage process platform, featuring both performance improvement and cost reduction. eMemory's NeoBit OTP application in the HV process claims to provide display parameter settings storage for high resolution display driver ICs to aid in adjusting moving image color, and also improves image sharpness and makes images clearer.

Currently, the OTP technology is slated for customer product design-in starting in 2H2.
