XP Power has rolled two new families of 15W DC/DC converters. The ultracompact JCG15 and JTF15 metal cased series of converters are available in an industry standard 24 pin DIP measuring just 31.75 x 20.32 x 10.16mm, offering up to 37.5W/inch3power density and efficiency up to 91 percent.

They enable board space savings and claim less wasted heat, assisting in the thermal management of the end system.

JCG15 and JTF15

The DC/DC converters are suited for mobile, portable and wireless applications.

The JCG15 series offers nominal power inputs of +12Vdc, +24Vdc or +48Vdc, and accommodates 2:1 input ranges of 9Vdc to 18Vdc, 18Vdc to 36Vdc and 36Vdc to 75Vdc.

The JTF15 series, on the other hand, accepts 4:1 inputs of 9Vdc to 36Vdc and 18Vdc to 75Vdc.

Both are available in single and dual output models. Single outputs are +3.3Vdc, +5.1Vdc, +12Vdc or +15Vdc and duals are 5Vdc, 12Vdc or 15Vdc.

The converters have an input to output and input/output to case isolation of 1,600Vdc. A remote on/off signal control is standard across the range and can be used to control the output rails or to sequence startup procedures. All units feature overvoltage and continuous short circuit protection.

The DC/DC converters operate from -40C to +100C for the JCG series and +105C for the JTF series. Suited for mobile, portable and wireless applications, the converters are available now.
