Gaming notebook GPU boasts best speed, efficiency

Nvidia Corp. has released the GeForce GTX 680M gaming notebook GPU. The chip, which touts the company's Kepler graphics architecture, is said to deliver performance, power efficiency and advanced gaming technology.

The GPU offers Adaptive V-sync technology developed by the company for a smoother gameplay experience. It features advanced AA modes for crisper images, including NVIDIA FXAA and new TXAA. Also, Nvidia's Optimus technology enables longer battery life by automatically switching on the GPU only when it is needed.

The chip also features the company's PhysX support for accelerated in-game physics; 3D Vision 2 technology for bigger, brighter, more comfortable 3D gaming; 3DTV Play software for connecting notebooks to 3DTVs for the most immersive gaming experience to be had in a living room; Verde notebook drivers for game support and maximum compatibility.

Gaming performance is also improved by Nvidia's SLI technology and CUDA technology support for high-performance GPU computing applications
