Vantage is a true laser tracker from FARO Technologies Inc. that combines disruptive new features with a portable design. Enhancements like SmartFind, MultiView and integrated Wi-Fiexpedite measurement routines for speed and efficiency. Reductions in size and weight make the device portable such that it can be carried on board airplanes and stored in an overhead bin.

Vantage is 25 percent smaller and 28 percent lighter than its predecessor. FARO has included new in-line optic systems that improve long-range measurement by 45 percent, or up to 80m (160m in diameter). Integrated Wi-Fi eliminates tethering to laptops.

Two of new featuresSmartFind and MultiViewincrease productivity by reducing measurement time. The SmartFind system responds to simple gestures from the operator, and allows the device to quickly find the desired target whenever its beam is lost or broken.

The patent-pending MultiView system utilizes two integrated cameras that allow users to point automatically to any specific and difficult-to-reach targets. The result is a portable tracker that captures more measurements with fewer device moves and shorter routines.

With its water- and dust-resistant IP52 rating, operators can use the Vantage through precipitation and moisture. The Vantage's TruADM technology provides the accuracy needed for every day, real-world applications where the differences between absolute distance measurement (ADM) and interferometer (IFM)-based measurements are, for the most part, insignificant.

Enhanced, predictive algorithms in this patented, fifth-generation technology allow quicker capture of dynamic measurements by simply scanning the target.
