According to a recent report by the Korea Herald, Samsung and Osram, two of the world's leading manufacturers of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), have settled their patent differences. The two companies have also been granted a joint-motion to end an investigation before the U.S. International Trade Comission.

South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Germany's Osram AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens AG (Munich, Germany) had been fighting patent infringement suits about LEDs in multiple territories including Germany, Korea and the United States. The report said that the settlement covers all legal proceedings throughout the world between Samsung and Osram but that details of the settlement had not been disclosed.
