Peak electronics has unveiled its latest PO/HS series of high power DC/DC converters which integrate a heatsink. The heatsink can be specified to remove the heat according to the needs of the application.

Mounted directly on the converter package, the heatsink is made of aluminium and can weigh an additional 16g, 19g, or 128g, depending on the model (without the converter).

The PO/HS series of converters ranges from 20-watt DC/DC converters housed in a 25.4x50.8mm package to 60-watt DC/DC converters housed in a 50.8x50.8mm package.

All models are available with a wide 4:1 input voltage range of 9 36 V or 18 72 V. The converters deliver output voltages of optionally 1.8, 2.5, 3.3, 5, 12 and 15 V.

The PO/HS series has an efficiency of 87% (typical). The most interesting features include output short circuit protection (hiccup, continuous & auto recovery), output over-voltage protection (clamp mode) and over-temperature protection. The input/output isolation is 1500 V DC (1.5 kV DC).

The switching frequency is a constant 300kHz (typical). The ambient operating temperature range is from -40C to +85C with derating.
