Ceramic passive components manufacturer Murata and track, trace and control solutions provider Cogiscan Inc. have announced a new strategic partnership. The companies have combined their respective products to offer complete PCB track, trace and control solutions using Murata's innovative RFID tagMAGICSTRAP.

Cogiscan plans to provide a demonstration for the joint solution at the IPC APEX exhibition set to take place on February 19 to 21, 2013 in San Diego.

David Kirk, President of Murata Americas said, "This is a natural collaboration for our companies. RFID offers great potential compared to traditional identification and tracking methods, but this technology must be part of a complete solution to make it easy-to-use and implement. Cogiscan is the clear leader in PCB tracking and traceability in our industry and they have more than 12 years of experience working with related software and RFID technology. Together we will bring a world-class solution out-of-the-box."

Fran?ois Monette, Co-President for Cogiscan, stated, "We are pleased to be associated with a world-class technology company like Murata. We have always believed in the potential of RFID for PCB track, trace, and control applications. Now there is an off-the-shelf solution available from well-established suppliers at a reasonable cost and we look forward to implementing this technology in a wide variety of electronic products. "
