Microsemi Corp. has introduced its single-chip, ZL30165 line card device as an addition to its optical transport network (OTN) portfolio. The ZL30165 claims to be the industry's first monolithic line card device for OTN transport and switching applications, and has been selected by various manufacturers for 40G and 100G equipment, noted the company.

Key features include four integrated digital phased lock loops (DPLLs) capable of locking on to up to 10 inputs targeting muxponder applications that support multi-client transport on a single wavelength. This allows equipment manufacturers to reduce the number of PLLs devices required in 100G applications, which saves board space and reduces BOM.

The ZL30165 is available in volume production quantities.
