MathWorks rolls out latest release for MATLAB, Simulink

MathWorks has recently announced Release 2013a of its MATLAB and Simulink product families. The company's latest release introduces the Fixed-Point Designer which combines the functionality of Fixed-Point Tool-box and Simulink Fixed Point. Phased Array System Tool-box and SimRF that strengthen wireless and radar communications system design have also been added to the latest release. R2013a also updates 80 other products, including Polyspace embedded software verification products.

For the MATLAB, R2013a highlights include a unit test framework for the MATLAB language, a financial instruments tool-box, an image processing tool-box, an image acquisition tool-box and a data acquisition tool-box. The latest release for MATLAB also includes a vehicle network tool-box, a communications system tool-box, a Computer Vision System Toolbox, DSP System Tool-box and a phased array system tool-box.

For Simulink, R2013a highlights include the Simulink: Simulation Performance Advisor, SimRF: Circuit Envelope solver, SimMechanics, Simulink Design Verifier, Simulink Coder, Fixed-Point Designer and HDL Verifier.
