Wolfson to supply more audio parts for Samsung's Galaxy

Samsung Electronics has agreed to a multi-year IP licence and component supply partnership with UK-based Wolfson Microelectronics for its Galaxy range of smartphones and tablets including the S4.

This announcement builds on Wolfson and Samsung's existing relationship, wherein Wolfson provided audio solutions for devices such as the Galaxy S3, Note II and Note 10.1. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"Having worked closely with Samsung over recent years on their GALAXY range of tablets and smartphones, this agreement is a testament to our strong IP portfolio and our growing partnership, and we very much look forward to working closely together to continue to deliver exceptional audio in Samsung's smartphones and tablets," Wolfson CEO Mike Hickey said in a statement.
