Coaxial-based VCO boasts frequency doubling feature

A new CVCO55CXT-6400-6400 coaxial resonator oscillator (CRO) was recently rolled out by frequency control expert Crytstek. The company's latest CRO is a coaxial-based VCO with an internal proprietary frequency doubler. The CVCO55CXT family's frequency doubling, 2X fundamental technology has been touted to reach new performance levels of lower phase noise and much lower harmonics, while achieving lower current consumption.

The oscillatoroperates at 6400MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.3 Vdc to 4.7 Vdc. This coaxial VCO features a typical phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz @ 10kHz offset and has good linearity. The device also exhibits an output power of 5.0 dBm typ. into a 50? load with a supply of +8.0 Vdc and a current consumption of 35 mA (max).

Engineered and manufactured in the USA, the Crytstek's latest CRO is packaged in the industry-standard 12.7 x 12.7mm package. Pushing and Pulling are both minimised to 1.5MHz/V and 0.5MHz, respectively. Second harmonic suppression is -30dBc typical.

The CVCO55CXT-6400-6400 is ideal for use in applications such as digital radio equipment, fixed wireless access, satellite communications systems, and base stations.
