AEC-Q100 certified SPDT RF switch for harsh environment

Richardson RFPD has recently announced the availability as well as full design support capabilities for a new Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q1000-certified SPDT RF switch from Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation. The PE42359 is developed on Peregrine's patented UltraCMOS technology and is designed to cover a broad range of applications from 10 to 3000MHz.

Peregrine's reflective switch integrates on-board CMOS control logic with a low voltage CMOS-compatible control interface, and can be controlled using either single-pin or complementary control inputs. Using a nominal +3volt power supply voltage, a typical input 1 dB compression point of +33.5 dBm can be achieved. The PE42359 also meets the quality and performance standards for automotive applications and has received AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certification, with operation up to +105C.

The switch is available in a miniature 6-lead SC-70 package and is appropriate for automotive applications such as Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), emergency communication systems, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), automotive multi-mode compenser modules, and automatic toll systems.
