RNCP series resistors ready for anti-sulphur usage

Resistor manufacturer Stackpole has recently unveiled the RNCP series of resistors, which forgoes silver or any other susceptible metals in the terminations to cause sulphur contamination. In addition, the thin film resistive element provides outstanding stability and higher power ratings compared to commodity thick film chip resistors.

Stackpole believes that the RNCP resistors are environmentally "green" because it does not require the use of a lead containing dielectric glass. It does not use any precious metals and utilises a high volume thin film process to minimise cost. These features make this series ideal for automotive and industrial control applications, construction and heavy equipment, power supplies, and anywhere sulphur contamination is a concern. The RNCP is available in sizes from 0402 through 1206, in 1 per cent and 5 per cent tolerances with 100 ppm TCR.
