Fox Electronics has rolled out FTM series of surface mount OCXOs that can be used as timing reference for network synchronisation. The new SMD OCXO offers specifications suitable for communication equipment, including base stations, radio network controllers, wireless backhaul equipment and routers as well as gateways, PON (Passive Optical Network), DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer), multi-service switching platform and transmission equipment.

The SMD oscillator comes with a 3.3VDC supply voltage, with 5Vdc as an option, and operates at a maximum of 1.2W at 25C. Output load is typically 15pF and long term ageing over 10 years is only 0.4ppm for all effects.

The new oscillator provides a standard stability of +10ppb across a set of standard frequencies in the 5MHz to 40MHz range with temperatures from -40C to 85C and stabilities as tight as 5 ppb available, depending upon operating conditions. The FTM also has a frequency control pin that allows a minimum of0.7ppm of frequency adjustment.

Available as a simple tape and reel assembly, the FTM Series is easily incorporated into any automated production line, further saving costs and set up time. Each OCXO weighs only 5.7g and comes with a gold termination finish.
