National Instruments has rolled out the CVS-1457RT compact vision system that is outfitted with two independent GigE Vision ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE). The compact system offers deterministic camera triggering over Ethernet bus so users can power the camera, send triggers, and acquire images all with a single Ethernet cable.

The rugged, compact automation controller also features FPGA-enabled I/O, which can be combined with the Vision RIO API to synchronise vision inspection results with other parts of the system, such as encoders, ejectors, and proximity sensors.

The fanless CVS-1457RT is powered by a 1.66GHz Atom processor and is programmed with either LabView system design software or Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. Onboard I/O includes 24 reconfigurable digital I/O lines, a VGA port, two USB ports, a serial port, and a LAN port. The CVS-1457RT packs all of its features in a 130x108x61-mm package for use in a range of industrial inspection, alignment, and OEM vision applications.

Further information on the CVS-1457RT can be found here.
