R&S' LTE-Avanced options widen radio communications test
Keywords:Rohde & Schwarz? LTE-Advanced? RF tests? data-rate?
Rohde & Schwarz has launched its LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation options for the company's CMW500 wideband radio communication tester. The new options enable CMW500 to allow RF tests with two component carriers in the downlink, including 2x2 and 4x2 MIMO. The options also enable chipset manufacturers and developers of wireless devices to check their hardware's RF performance by carrying out both physical-layer test and data-rate tests.
With the installed options, users of the CMW500 can verify whether the receiver correctly acquires the LTE-Advanced signal from the two component carriers. For end-to-end testing, measurements can also be made in the data application mode in order to assess the wireless device's overall performance.
The options for LTE-Advanced downlink carrier aggregation, the CMW-KS502 for LTE-FDD and CMW-KS552 for LTE-TDD, are available now. Existing CMW500 test platforms can be retrofitted.
