Understanding geometric optics for DLP

Geometric optics is the term applied to optical analysis, which considers the propagation of light along ray paths in ordinary 3-dimensional space. It is also called ray optics. It does not consider the wave nature of light, or the quantum nature of light. It is convenient for understanding the spatial characteristics of an optical system, such as projected image size, and image placement. It also addresses factors such as image brightness, focus, and depth of field.
