Imagination Technologies and Actions Semiconductor Co. have revealed a greater collaborative initiative, leveraging Imagination's PowerVR graphics across Actions' OWL chipsets.

The latest addition to OWL chipsets, the ATM7029B, is equipped with a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and compatible with Android 4.4. The chip includes support for APIs such as OpenGL ES, OpenCL, RenderScript and FilterScript in aid of harnessing the processing potential of both graphics and GPU compute delivered by PowerVR.

While the ATM7029B is targeted for midrange tablets, Actions' previously released ATM7021 chipset leverages a PowerVR SGX540 GPU for entry-level tablets. The ATM7039 chipset features a PowerVR SGX544MP GPU and dual channel 64bit DDR for high-end Android tablets.

At the ongoing Mobile World Congress, Imagination is featuring Actions' PowerVR-based chipsets integrated into the Ramos K6 and Ainol Spark II tablets.
