Quantenna and Texas Instruments have revealed at the MWC a collaborative 3G/4G design that provides Wave 2 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi solutions for picocell base stations.

The platform integrates Quantenna's QSR1000 802.11ac 4x4 MU-MIMO chipset and TI's KeyStoneTM-based TCI6630K2L SoC.

Quantenna's 1.7Gbit/s Wi-Fi architecture delivers 802.11ac and 802.11n dual concurrent solutions for indoor and outdoor small cells, while utilising the TCI6630K2L's integrated network co-processor and offloading the ARM Cortex A15 cores.

The Wi-Fi platform allows OEMs to deliver differentiated enterprise and picocells to the market faster.
