Exfo taps RF measurements for its turn-up test upgrade

Exfo Inc. has partnered with Rohde & Schwarz to upgrade what it says is the industry's first cloud-based FTTA turn-up test automation solution for mobile operators. The EXFO Connect platform has been integrated with Rohde & Schwarz's RF and cable measurements.

The platform leverages the technology of R&S's FSH Handheld Spectrum Analyser, allowing the access of the resulting measurements within EXFO's cloud-based data management system.

The platform generates turn-up, activation, and troubleshoot data in a near real-time handling. The results include comprehensive analytics to analyse RF, optical fibre integrity, Ethernet backhaul and overall access network quality & trends throughout the product lifecycle.

The generation process involves Methods and Procedure Automation for compliance, network quality and reliability tracking.
