e-con Systems has rolled out its addition to the See3 CAM seriesan 10x optical zoom camera for applications including inspection devices, surveillance, security, and OCR.

The 30Z10X camera is based on a 1/3in optical format. Its 3.0MP CMOS image sensor supports 720p HD streaming at 60fps and 1080p Full HD at 30fps. Equipped with a built-in image signal processor, the camera performs functions such as 3A (autofocus, auto exposure and auto white balance). The motor-driven lens assembly supports 10x optical zoom with a focal length ranging from 6.3mm to 63mm, and 6x digital zoom.

In addition to the standard brightness and contrast controls, the camera includes a temporal noise threshold adjustment support. Users can control individual digital gains of red and blue channels as a means to adjust the white balance.

The camera supports still image capture at full 3MP, as well as in compressed JPEG format. The burst capture feature allows successive capture of up to 8 images on a single external trigger event.

While the camera operates on Windows Vista/Windows 7 OS, a Linux support is expected soon. The company is providing APIs along with documentation and e-con systems for building applications with the device.
