RF Micro Devices (RFMD) has expanded its portfolio of antenna control solutions (ACS) that enables operation of 4G LTE devices over wider bandwidths.

The ACS additions feature a low on-resistance single pole quadruple throw (SP4T) routing switch for improving link quality and data throughput. A low loss single pole double throw (SPDT) antenna and a series of programmable tuners, meanwhile, are designed for radiated efficiency of all active bands in multi-band LTE mobile devices.

The RF1149, RF1141A, and RF1107/8/9 were featured at the MWC to add value to the smartphone user experience by improving battery life, increasing data throughput and talk time. The devices cover major air interface standards including average power tracking- and envelope tracking-enabled multi-mode multi-band and discrete tuners and switches.

According to RFMD, it has secured key design wins for its ACS in the leading flagship smartphones anticipated in 2014.
