Xilinx, Inc. has received PCI Express compliance for its Kintex UltraScale FPGAs, resulting in the devices' inclusion in the PCI-SIG integrator's list.

Claimed as the first 20nm devices to achieve the mentioned compliance, the FPGAs with integrated End-point blocks for PCI Express passed rigorous electrical, protocol, and interoperability tests at the latest PCI-SIG event held on April 3.

The UltraScale family supports Gen3 or 8Gbit/s speeds with up to eight links and six integrated PCIe blocks to enable high throughput in applications requiring SRIOV with expandable physical and virtual functions such as in wireline and data centres.

Design engineers can meet the high system bandwidth and programmable system integration needed in a variety of applications with no-cost integrated PCIe blocks.

Ketan Mehta, PCI Express product marketing manager at Xilinx said that the compliance marks another milestone for the company, which means delivering the fastest time to differentiation for engineers.
