Diodes Incorporated has released a dual-phase synchronous rectified buck controller designed to deliver up to 60A output current, and comes in U-QFN4040-24 package.

The AP3595 integrates internal MOSFET drivers that support 12V+12V bootstrapped voltage. The bootstrap diode is built-in to simplify the circuit design and minimise external part count. It operates at frequencies adjustable between 50Hz and 1MHz per phase.

The controller features a configurable gate drive voltage, regulated via a reference input set using an external voltage divider. A power-saving interface enables it to automatically switch between dual and single mode to help reduce losses. With the VPSI pin at greater than 1.2V, the controller enters dual-phase mode; and single-phase mode at less than 0.4V.

Other features include adjustable soft start, and built-in protection features such as over-current, input/output under-voltage, and over-voltage and over-temperature protection.
