Altium Ltd has unveiled a power platform targeted to provide design engineers with an end-to-end analogue circuit design and simulation environment, including everything from creating the power supply and simulating the complete circuit to creating the PCB layout.

The product of a collaboration with Texas Instruments, the WEBENCH Altium Connector interfaces Altium Designer and TI's online WEBENCH Power Designer.

Altium Designer is a unified design software that includes schematic capture, 3D PCB layout, analysis, and programmable design. WEBENCH Power Designer, meanwhile, is a series of software tools that helps generate, optimise and simulate designs that conform to unique specifications.

The connector platform facilitates creation of a custom WEBENCH power supply. The power supply design can be created in WEBENCH, then exported and simulated offline inside Altium Designer. This way, engineers can further customise and integrate the design into a larger circuit.

The WEBENCH menu in Altium also provides easy access to the entire WEBENCH Designer tool suite, including Power Designer and Architect, FPGA and Microprocessor Power Architect, Filter Designer, Clock Architect and LED Architect.

The platform is available to all Altium Designer subscribers as a cost-free extension.
