Keysight Technologies' has unveiled its latest 3D Electromagnetic Professional (EMPro) electromagnetic simulation software that boasts additional features to speed up simulations and increase design efficiency. The speed boost of the EMPro 2015.01 can be attributed to the finite element method (FEM) simulator that claims to cut by half the time it takes for simulations that exceed two minutes.

The simulator also boasts improved FEM mesh performance and efficiency for large designs, along with increased robustness and capacity, added the company.

EMPro 2015.01

EMPro 2015.01 offers a number of capabilities to reduce FEM simulation time and increase design productivity.

"With time-to-market cycles continuing to shrink, faster simulation speed has become essential," said Marc Petersen, electromagnetic and electrothermal simulation software product manager at Keysight. "Our newest EMPro software provides designers the capabilities they need to address this challenge head on. By speeding FEM simulation, it allows designers to more efficiently perform all the simulation they need to ensure better, more robust designs."

Additional features available in the latest release of EMPro include: a coaxial port and improved loss tangent modelling for the finite difference time domain simulator; user-defined limit lines, plus speed and usability improvements for better electromagnetic interference analysis; and a geometry healing/simplification tool, Z-scale controller and frequency plan setup.

The EMPro 2015.01 release will be available for download later this month.
