Alps Electric Malaysia has noticed Vietnam's soaring economy, prompting the company to set up a representative office in Hanoi. Its primary task as of the moment is to gather information in the country.

The office opened in August, but operations officially began in September.

The office will carry out market surveys and provide customer support in relation to component products, such as switches and sensors, primarily targeting the smartphone and motorcycle businesses. The future establishment of a sales affiliate will also be explored.

Alps Electric Malaysia was established in April 1989 as a production and sales affiliate for the ASEAN region, and especially Malaysia. With production bases in Nilai, where the head office is located, and Jengka, as well as a sales base in Penang, the company has been carrying out production and sales of products for both the consumer device and automotive markets.
