Artesyn Embedded Technologies has introduced two series of isolated DC-DC converters for industrial applications requiring high power density. The AEE 40W and 50W series feature fully-potted and shielded metal case construction that makes the devices ideal for harsh environments and enables the modules to operate between -40°C and 80°C.

An optional clip-on heat sink is available to extend the thermal performance of the unit in a convection or forced-air environment.

AEE 40W, 50W series

Both series of Artesyn AEE modules cover an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range of 9-36VDC and 18-75VDC to cover 12, 24 or 48V nominal input rails and tight output voltage regulation. The output voltage of the single output versions can be trimmed by ±10 per cent of the nominal output. The 40W series offers single-output voltage of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 or 24V or dual output versions offering ±12V or ±15V and efficiency levels of up to 90 per cent. The 50W series offers single-output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24V and efficiency levels of up to 92 per cent.

The 25.4 x 50.8mm converters feature low ripple and noise, overcurrent protection and isolation up to 1.5kVDC. An industry-standard pin out simplifies PCB design and the mechanical design of customers' end product, added Artesyn.
